TUCSON, Ariz. - U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a convicted rapist who had been deported before trying to illegally cross back into the U.S.
Ajo Station agents arrested 31-year-old Juan Aranda-Ramirez near Lukeville. He was convicted of aggravated rape in Tennessee in 2009 and served two years in prison before he was deported.
Aranda-Ramirez was placed in federal custody and faces felony immigration prosecution.
