A U.S. Border Patrol agent rescued a motorcyclist who might have died from injuries suffered from a hit-and-run crash.
According to the Border Patrol, the incident happened Tuesday afternoon on State Route 82 near Whetstone.
The off-duty agent spotted the injured 29-year-old victim on the side of the road, where he had been hit by a truck. The motorcyclist's leg was severed during the crash. The agent applied a tourniquet and alerted the Sonoita Elgin Fire Department, which flew the victim to Banner University Medical Center.
The hit-and-run driver was later arrested.
