TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson police identified a bicyclist who died after an eastside wreck Monday.
Police say 22-year-old Joseph Abdiel Santos-Nelson died from injuries he suffered in a crash near East 22nd Street and South Vista Overlook Drive.
According to witnesses, Santos-Nelson was riding eastbound in the westbound lanes of 22nd Street in the curb lane. A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was heading eastbound on 22nd Street in the same lane, and hit Santos-Nelson head-on.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The driver was not impaired. Santos-Nelson was not wearing a helmet.
