TUCSON, Ariz. — Sandwich and salad shop August Rhodes Market will reopen as August Rhodes Bakery July 9.

The bakery will specialize in bread, including sourdough, focaccia, rustic baguettes, white and wheat bread, English muffins and Japanese Milk Bread.

"We noticed an increasing need for quality bread amongst our restaurant peers here in Tucson, and with our team at August Rhodes, we knew this was something we wanted to take on," said Nathen Ares, the restaurateur behind Prep & Pastry and Commoner & Co., in a statement. "We will do as much of this in-house as we possibly can and will utilize resources from local farms to help us create our bread."

Ares will run the restaurant with chef-partner Kyle Nottingham and Nathan Teufel as partner baker.

The bakery is at 3073 N. Campbell Ave. and will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday to Sunday. Its website is
