Arizona unemployment rate drops to 6 percent

PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 6 percent in November.
    
That down from 6.1 percent in October as the state's economy added 29,800 nonfarm jobs, mostly in the private sector.
    
State Department of Administration researchers said Thursday that the private sector added 27,100 jobs while government employment increased by 2,700 jobs, primarily in state and local governments.
    
Nine of the 11 economic sectors added jobs, led by the trade, transportation and utilities sector's 14,600 additional jobs.
    
Education and health services added 3,400 jobs, leisure and hospitality added 3,000 jobs and professional and business services sector added 2,600 jobs.
    
The only sectors to lose jobs were financial services, which shed 500 jobs, and mining which lost 100 jobs.
    
The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in November 2014 was 6.6 percent.
