PHOENIX — A bill that would have employers pay full-time students less than Arizona's minimum wage was given preliminary approval in the state's House of Representatives.

Despite support for the bill, it's likely to be challenged if it clears the legislature and is signed by Governor Doug Ducey.

Right now, the minimum wage is $11 an hour, but the bill would allow businesses to pay the federal minimum wage -- which is $7.25 an hour -- to full-time students ages 22 and younger working a maximum of 20 hours a week.
