Officials are dedicating a wildlife crossing bridge north of town Tuesday.

The Sonoran Desert Protection, Sky Island Alliance, Tucson Audubon Society, the Arizona Game and Fish Department, Pima County, the Regional Transportation Authority and Granite Construction are behind the project.

The ceremony is at the Santa Catalina Catholic Church, 14380 N. Oracle, at 9 a.m. RSVP by submitting the online form at https://goo.gl/fZ2no1.

There will also be a reception at 10 a.m. at Pusch Ridge Stables, 13700 N. Oracle Road.

"This community should be proud of the collaborative approach by so many diverse interests, agencies, and officials," said Carolyn Campbell, Director of the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection. "Results can be amazing when people work together, as shown with this wildlife crossing project."

"The iconic new wildlife bridge and underpass are a tangible benefit after years of data collection, citizen science, and planning conducted by Sky Island Alliance, our volunteers, and many partners," says Jessica Moreno, Conservation Manager with Sky Island Alliance. "This is an accomplishment our entire community can be proud of."
