TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - An early morning visit to an ATM left a man shot, and in the hospital.

Now he hopes you can help police bring in the shooter.

Daniel says after a night of driving for Uber and Lyft he was making a deposit at 3 a.m. because he needed to cover some bills.

A dark blue Chevy Suburban pulled up.

Daniel says, “ A Latino male about 21 years of age, light complexion, black hair pulled up right next to me with a Glock 40 cal and points it right at me and demands money."

By the time the gunman demanded that money.  Daniel had no money to give him.  He had just deposited it in that ATM.

Daniel says, “Right as soon as I said that all I heard and saw was the flash from the gun and the sound of the gun and pretty much the lower half of my leg broken off from my top side."

We're not showing Daniel's face because the shooter's still out there.

Daniel was on the ground helpless, calling for help.  He says a man rode up on a bicycle, got off and lifted Daniel into Daniel's own car.

"I let him drive me, while I'm in the passenger seat and he's in the driver seat, drive me to St. Joe's."

St. Joseph's put him in an ambulance to the trauma center at Banner UMC.

Now Daniel hopes surveillance cameras, and maybe a tip from you will help police catch the man who could have killed him. If you can help call 911 or 88-Crime.

Daniel says even after a very bad night he has something to feel good about.

"I know someone was looking out for me up there. My grandmother was looking after me."
