TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - When it gets this hot it can be tough to find a cool, comfortable place to walk your dog.

Through September the Tucson Botanical Gardens invites people to walk their dogs on the garden's cool, shady paths.

Gardens Executive Director Michelle Conklin says, “Summer is so quiet at the Gardens and we thought, what a nice opportunity for not only people but pets to actually be able to get outside in nature, do some walking, become refreshed.

There is a three dollar charge for pets and a nine dollar charge for their humans.

People and dogs can enter free with a membership. A membership costs 35 or 40 dollars for people, and twenty for dogs---and the dogs get their own special tag.

The gardens are at 2150 N Alvernon Way in Tucson. They are open 7:30am to 4:30pm most days.  They stay open until 8pm on Thursdays and Fridays
