Banner hospitals, Tucson Medical Center and Carondelet hospitals are no longer allowing visitors to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The restrictions will begin on Thursday, March 19 for each of those hospitals.

Banner and TMC have adopted the same, no-visitor policy, and both have only two exceptions: patients under the age of 18 may have one adult visitor with them and laboring mothers may have one support person with them.

"We understand this will be challenging, but we’re committed to take the necessary precautions to protect our patients, health care workers and the community," Banner said in a statement.

Carondelet has a slightly different policy. Labor & Delivery and Postpartum patients are allowed one visitor throughout the course of their stay. No one under 16 is allowed. NICU patients are allowed two visitors, who must remain the same during the course of the patient’s stay. They will consider other visitors on a case by case basis.

It's unknown when visitors will be allowed back into the hospitals.
