Downtown Phoenix area evacuated while police investigate bomb threat

PHOENIX — Police are investigating a bomb threat near Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix Wednesday night.

Officials say officers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the area and locate the people who left it.

One man was taken into police custody, according to police. The vehicle is still under investigation, officials said Wednesday night.

Fifth Street was restricted from Van Buren to Fillmore streets, according to police.

Police say the AC Hotel, APS building, and AMC theater were also evacuated.

As of Thursday morning, all closures and evacuations appeared to have been resolved.

Police have not released any more information on the situation.
