Netflix developing 'Chronicles of Narnia' series

Netflix binge-watchers will soon be able to take a trip to Narnia.

The streaming service announced Wednesday it is developing new projects based on C.S. Lewis' book series, Variety reports.

C.S. Lewis’ beloved ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ stories have resonated with generations of readers around the world,” said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix told Variety. “Families have fallen in love with characters like Aslan and the entire world of Narnia, and we’re thrilled to be their home for years to come.

The book series consists of seven entries and has sold over 100 million copies.

Three of the books were adapted into movies in the mid-2000's which combined to make over $1-billion worldwide, according to boxofficemojo.com.
