A live-action version of Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender is in the works at Netflix.
Deadline reports the original creators of the animated series, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are signed on as executive producers and showrunners.
We’re thrilled for the opportunity to helm this live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender,” DiMartino and Konietzko said in a release announcing the project.
Production on the show will begin next year.
The original run of Avatar ran for three seasons on Nickelodeon from 2005-2008.
