Sunrise Ski Park Resort in northeastern Arizona has abruptly closed.
In a short Facebook post on Wednesday, the ski resort wrote, "Sunrise Park Resort is closed until further notice. Effective December 13, 2017."
The note comes a day after the resort sent an email with the subject line, "Sunrise is opening!" In the email and on its website, the park said it expected to open on Friday, Dec. 15.
"We're making snow nightly, and working towards the top of Sunrise!" the email said.
ABC15 reached out to Sunrise's marketing department for more information. The reply we received was, "Sunrise Park Resort is closed until further notice." Our request for more information was not returned.
Sunrise is located four hours northeast of Phoenix in Greer, Arizona.
