TUCSON, Ariz. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested an El Salvadoran man who allegedly tried to cross the border using a fake ID.
According to the agency, a man with a U.S. passport travel card identifying him as a 22-year-old Colorado man tried to enter the U.S. at the Port of San Luis. Officers used Simplified Arrival system technology to show that the man didn't match the photo in the ID.
Officers questioned the man, who admitted his true identity and citzenship, as well as plans to travel to New Jersey.
The man will face criminal prosecution for illegally attempting to enter the country.
