Here are this week's hottest home video releases. Find them on disc, or streaming services such as iTunes, Vudu, Amazon and Google Play.

BIG LITTLE LIES: SEASON 2

Adding Meryl Streep to the dynamite ensemble including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravtiz, the HBO drama continues to captivate. The series is set in a wealthy Southern California community teeming with backbiting, mistrust and venom. Centering around a shared secret involving a killing, as well as a virulent custody battle, the wildly intense series is thoroughly captivating. Extras include cast interviews.

JOKER

Golden Globe winner Joaquin Phoenix thoroughly owns this Todd Phillips-directed film, which harkens back to the 1970s-style cinematic aesthetic. The drama traces the origins of Batman's arch villain, showing a street clown and struggling stand-up comic's descent into madness and evil. For my full review, click here. Extras include a slew of background featurettes that break down Phoenix's performance and character arcs.

THE LIGHTHOUSE

Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson deliver a pair of dynamic performances in a two-man show that tackles themes such as companionship, despair and a dysfunctional employee-employer dynamic. Director Robert Eggers directs the elegant, black-and-white horror tale of lighthouse keepers stuck at a remote outpost in the 1890s. Surreal elements come into play, making it tantalizingly difficult to distinguish reality from hallucination. Extras include Eggers' commentary, a making-of featurette and deleted scenes.

Studios provided review screeners.
