Tucson Water is warning their customers of scam-related phone calls.
Fernando Molina of Tucson Water says they received a flurry of calls today from their customers alerting them that a Dallas-based utility management company called them saying they were collecting money on behalf of Tucson Water.
This Dallas-based company has threatened customers over the phone by saying they need to pay a certain amount of money or their water will be shut off immediately.
Tucson Water says they do not make calls over the weekend and they do not turn off services over the weekend either.
Molina says to ask for account information if you are called and to call police to report the scam if you are called by these scammers.
