Citing four recent cases of rabid skunks, the Arizona Game and Fish Department is warning people to be careful around wildlife.

In the most recent incident, April 24, two dogs killed a skunk that tested positive for rabies at South Sonoita Highway and Sahuarita Road. The dogs, which had been vaccinated, are currently at home under quarantine.

The department cited these other incidents of rabid skunks:

* A skunk was removed from a shopping center parking lot April 20 near East Pusch View Lane and Oracle Road and Oro Valley.

* Two dogs killed a skunk April 9 near West Pinacate Avenue and South Stagecoach Road near Three Points. The dogs are quarantined at home.

* A skunk removed April 6 on Mount Lemmon near East Summerhaven and North Sabino Canyon Park roads.
