Health officials confirmed Cochise County's first three Zika virus cases Friday.

According to Cochise County Health and Social Services, all three Zika patients contracted the disease in Puerto Rico. All suffered mild symptoms and have now recovered.

Officials warn  people to use DEET-based insect repellent when they are outdoors, avoid standing water and wear long sleeves and pants.

Cochise County officials routinely monitor mosquito activity from June through October. No mosquitoes in the county have tested positive for Zika.
