Your corn dog and cotton candy might get a little dusty for opening day of the Pima County Fair, unless you go early. Gates open at 10 AM, and the strongest winds will blow in during the afternoon.
A Red Flag Warning is in affect for all southeast Arizona from 11 AM to 8 PM today. Southwest winds will pick up between 20 and 30 mph, gusting in the 40s. Even stronger winds expected in the mountains. Any fires that develop, will have the potential to spread rapidly.
Blowing dust will also be a concern, especially on I-10 between Tucson and Phoenix, and in Cochise county. Morning wind gusts could reach 30 mph, with afternoon gusts as high as 50 mph.
Less wind, but cooler Friday, then a big weekend warm-up. Great weekend weather for the fair!
