TUCSON, Ariz. — It was sunny in Summerhaven on Wednesday, but it was a different story on Monday.

“It was very blustery cold, dark gray skies all day, temperatures dropped to 38 at 2 p.m. and was wet all day,” said General Store Manager Leanne Mack. She posted a video on Facebook that was shared thousands of times.

The weather may have generated a lot of attention, but Cookie Cabin manager Sam Beal says it hasn't brought in many customers.

“We finally get all the snow off and we're thinking here comes the heat, because that’s our next busy season,” said Beal. “Because as it gets up to 100 degrees in Tucson we start our busy season. Well it hasn't started this week.”

Most of the people we talked to were pretty bundled up, but said 50s and sunny can still make for a nice day.

“It’s great,” said Kathleen Kitch bundled up on the patio of Cookie Cabin. “The sun is warm and as long as the wind doesn’t blow it is quite nice.”

The businesses up here hope a turnaround is right around the corner for Memorial Day Weekend.

“We should have a great weekend,” said Mack. “We are ready for it, we have over 300 pounds of fudge made, I am ready for this, so we just hope the evenings are too cool for campers and just bring an extra blanket.”
