...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall continues.
* WHERE...East central Pima county, mainly portions of Tucson near
Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and the Tucson International Airport.
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM MST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Dangerous flows over low-water crossings.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 858 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.6 and 1.2 inches
of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Tanque Verde Wash, Chico, Arroyo, Santa Cruz River and
Pantano Wash.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Tucson, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and Tucson International
Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
