TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Arizona head basketball coach Sean Miller will not be the next Pitt basketball coach, following the departure of former coach Jamie Dixon.

Rumors circulated early Tuesday morning after a local Pittsburgh sportscaster released a report that stated Sean Miller was in the city of Pittsburgh and that there was "better than 50 percent chance" he accepts.

Sean Miller quickly refuted the newscaster's report by posting this message from his Twitter account:

"I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for the University and city of Pittsburgh. My memories and friendships of my time as a student athlete are the best and strongest of my lifetime. However, I have one of the great jobs in college basketball at Arizona. I have no interest in becoming the head coach at Pitt. I wish them luck in replacing Jamie Dixon, a tremendous coach and person, who did an incredible job in his time there."

Miller is set to receive a $2.1 million retention from Arizona if he stays through the end of the 2015-16 season. The school sets aside $300,000 for each year he has coached the Wildcats since arriving in 2009.
