Sabino defeated Show Low, 23-21, in Gilbert, to advance to next weekend's class 3A championship game against American Leadership.
The Sabercats erased a 14-0 first quarter deficit thanks to a third quarter touchdown catch, and interception, by senior Andrew Carlsen. A fourth quarter goal line stand helped preserve the win.
The title game against American Leadership will be a rematch of a 16-13 Sabino win earlier in the season. It will be Sabino's 9th appearance in a state championship game. The Sabercats last title came in 1998.
In the Class 2A semifinals, Benson lost to Round Valley, 37-8, in a game that was played in Fountain Hills.
