The Arizona Coyotes have named Mark Lamb as head coach for their new AHL team, the Tucson Roadrunners.
Lamb has spent seven years in the NHL as an assistant coach. Most recently, he was General Manager and Head Coach of the Swift River Broncos of the WHL. He also has international hockey experience with Team Canada.
"Mark is an experienced NHL coach who did an excellent job developing young players in Swift Current for many years," said Coyotes GM John Chayka. "He previously worked with Dave Tippett in Dallas and we are confident that this will be a great fit for our organization."
The Coyotes also announce that Mark Hardy will be the Roadrunners assistant coach. Hardy and Coyotes coach Dave Tippett were once both on the same staff of the Los Angeles Kings.
The Roadrunners inaugural season begins in October with home games at the Tucson Convention Center.
