The Red team defeated the Blue team, 53-49, at McKale Center, but Friday night's festivities will be known more for what happened before the game, and at halftime.

Rawle Alkins did a reverse dunk over head coach Sean Miller's head to win the slam dunk contest. Miller said afterwards that Alkins asked him three times for the favor, and Miller agreed depending upon Alkins' defense.

At halftime, the 1997 Wildcat championship team was honored. It's the 20th anniversary of their NCAA tournament win, which saw them defeat three number one seeds. Miles Simon's uniform will hang from the McKale Center wall. His name had previously been in the ring of honor. On hand was coach Lute Olson, as well as Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner.

As for the game, both Allonzo Tirer and Dusan Ristic  each had sixteen points.
