TUCSON, Arizona — After waiting more than ten months to play a game, the Tucson Roadrunners will have to wait a little longer.

Friday night's game against San Jose was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Barracudas organization. The two teams will now begin their season on Friday at the Tucson Arena.

"We were ready to go," said head coach Steve Potvin. "We couldn’t wait to get this season started. Especially, with everything that’s transpired. We just couldn’t wait to get out there and play together and get to game one."

"The boys were excited to play tonight," said forward Brayden Burke. "Friday was a good day to start the season. We’ll be ready for Sunday. We got a good skate in, today, and a good team practice tomorrow. I think everyone is going to be excited for the game on Sunday. It’s been a while."

Sunday's game will officially be a road one for Tucson, which is beginning its fifth season as the Coyotes AHL affiliate.
