TUCSON, Arizona — When we last saw CDO's Dylan Zamorano this past fall, the defensive back was helping lead the Dorado football team to an 8-3 record.

"It was a great year," said Zamorano. "It didn't end the way we wanted it to."

Following a first round playoff loss, Zamorano still had a track season to look forward to, where he excelled in javelin.

"Football is such a team sport, and javelin is such a one-man-show."

However, Covid-19 forced the cancellation of the season. He was just three inches short of the CDO school record in the javelin throw.

"Not being able to do it is pretty devastating, honestly."

Javelin might be over for Zamorano, but football is not. He will play defensive back at Fort Hays state next year.

"The campus was great. The football program is really good. I’m excited to go next year."
