Top seeded Nogales defeated Salpointe 14-3 on Saturday night in front of over 4,000 fans at Hi Corbett Field. The game was moved to Tucson after Salpointe's walk off win in Phoenix last week. It's Nogales' first state title since 1981.
"I started my coaching career at Salpointe in 1994, with coach Winslow," said Nogales head coach OJ Favela. "It's come full circle. And I'm extremely proud of those guys because they were there when I started and it was a special game for all of us tonight."
