KGUN9's sports director Jason Barr is on the road with the Wildcats, courtesy of Frost RV.  The Wildcats also hit the road this morning, bussing their way to El Paso ahead of tomorrow night's game against UTEP.

This is the Wildcats first road game of the season.  They are 1-1 this season, and UTEP is 0-2.  They lost their first 2 games to Oklahoma and Rice.

The Wildcats are a 23 point favorite, but hope to see improvements in their quarterback play.  Head coach Rich Rodriguez announced on Wednesday that junior Brandon Dawkins will get the start, and he is not injured.  Rodriguez said after Saturday's loss to Houston that Dawkins was "nicked up", and he inserted sophomore QB Khalil Tate to give the team a "spark."

Junior safety Demetrius Flanagan Fowles leads the much improved Wildcat defense into El Paso.  The junior has 3 interceptions in 2 games this season.  Defensive coordinator Marcel Yates said he keeps getting better and better every week.

The Wildcats will kickoff against UTEP on Friday at 7:15pm on ESPN.
