Former Wildcat J.J. Taylor sneaks way onto Patriots roster

TUCSON, Arizona — Former Wildcat J.J. Taylor was asked when he got tired about being asked the question he gets asked the most, the one about his 5'6'' height.

"It came around high school," said Taylor. "I’ve been the same height since high school and it’s all about me performing on the field. It's not about things I can’t control."

Taylor rushed for 18 touchdowns as an Arizona Wildcat. While some like to compare Taylor to previous running backs, there really is no comparison for a 5'6'' running back with his physical style.

"You can model yourself after dudes that have similarities, but there are not many backs that are small in the league right now."

Former Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez used to refer to Taylor as short as opposed to small. He'll have a chance to make a big impact for New England. After initially being released after training camp, he was signed to the practice squad. But, when Damien Harris got injured, Taylor was put on the 53-man roster, and will be active on Sunday when New England hosts Miami.
