TUCSON, Arizona — We say 'goodbye' to The Athletic's C.J. Holmes, who often joined us over the past year to talk Arizona sports in a segment we called, "In the Ring."

Jason Barr:
Thirteen members of the Miami Marlins test positive for Covid-19. CJ, Does this make you apprehensive about a possible UArizona football or basketball season?

C.J. Holmes It's not promising, but I'm not ready to give up hope. We saw with The TBT (The Basketball Tournament) that basketball can work. It will be interesting to see about football and how that's going to carry over.

Pat Parris: C.J., You played at Auburn during your collegiate career. Basketball is physical. What are your thoughts about how it is going to look?

C.J. Holmes: It's definitely not going to look how it looks down in Orlando withe the NBA bubble. With so many college basketball teams, I don't think that's going to be possible. We've seen that you can play basketball in a controlled environment and that you can keep cases down and people safe. If college basketball adopts the same thing, we will see a season.

Jason Barr: C.J. Congratulations on your promotion at The Athletic. Tell everyone where you are headed.

C.J. Holmes: I'm headed to Philadelphia to cover college basketball and The Big Five.

Pat Parris: Congratulations, CJ. I know that you have great things ahead. We've enjoyed watching you rise as a star in journalism and on TV, and I know we'll see you down the road.

C.J.Holmes: Thanks so much. I appreciate you having me on this past year and taking me under your wings when I came here to Tucson. I'm very thankful, and wish you guys the best of luck as well.
