The Arizona Coyotes will host the league's newest team, the Vegas Golden Knights, in their home opener on Saturday, October 7th at Gila River Arena.
"We are excited to play the Golden Knights in our home opener," Coyotes General Manager John Chayka said in a statement released by the team. "It's a natural rival and I hope it evolves that way. Vegas is going to have a pretty good team as an expansion team. For us to have a team so close will be a real positive and exciting for the fans."
The Coyotes will also play in Vegas' home opener Tuesday, Oct.10. They'll also be in Anaheim Thursday, Oct.5 to play the Ducks in their home opener at 7 p.m. at Honda Center. The Coyotes' entire 2017-18 schedule will be revealed on Thursday.
Arizona will also play seven preseason games prior to the 2017-18 season, including one in Tucson. They will take on the Anaheim Ducks Sept. 25 at Tucson Arena where the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners, plays its home games.
