Coyotes aquire Hickey, Johnson and draft pick

The Arizona Coyotes added two players to their roster Saturday along with a third-round draft pick.

According to a press release from the team, defenseman Brandon Hickey, goaltender Chad Johnson will join the organization in exchange for goaltender Mike Smith.

The Coyotes GM John Chayka thanked Smith for the last six seasons with the team.

On behalf of the entire organization, I'd like to thank Mike for everything he's done for our franchise on and off the ice the past six seasons, said Chayka. He's the consummate professional and we wish him all the best in the future.

According to NHL.com, Hickey recorded 4-11-15 in 35 games as a junior at Boston University in the 2016-17 season.

Johnson had a record of 18-15-1 with 2359 goals against average and a .910 save percentage with the Flames in 2016-17.
