The Canyon View 9 through 11 year olds defeated Western, 16-2, at Mehl Park, to advance to the little league state baseball tournament in their age group.

Western had originally sent Canyon View to the elimination bracket, but Canyon View worked its way all the way back to the state title game, where the boys won the rematch.
