The Arizona Wildcats scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat Washington 12-11 Sunday afternoon at Hi Corbett Field.
It was the second time in the past three games the Wildcats earned a walk-off win against the Huskies, and completed a three-game sweep of Washington. The win improved Arizona to 31-15 on the season and 12-12 in Pac-12 play. Washington dropped to 24-20 and 10-11 in the Pac-12.
Heading into the 9th, the Wildcats trailed 11-7. JJ Matijevic led the way for Arizona, going 3 for 3 with 5 RBI, 3 runs scored and a walk to go with his 2 home runs and 9th inning double.
The junior first baseman now has two multi-home run games this season, becoming the first Wildcat to do that since Brad Glenn in 2009.
Arizona will play again at Hi Corbett Field on Tuesday when it hosts Arizona State in a nonconference midweek affair. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
