Danielle O'Toole threw her third shutout of the season, a four-hitter with seven strikeouts, helping sixth-ranked Arizona defeat Texas 3-0 in the first game of a three-game series at Hillenbrand Stadium.
Mo Mercado remained hot at the plate, posting her sixth straight multi-hit game. The reigning national and conference player of the week is now 13-for-her-last 16 at the plate. Mercado had a pair of doubles and scored two of Arizona's three runs.
O'Toole is now 9-1 on the season, and leads the conference in ERA, posting a 0.34. The Wildcats will continue their homestand with Texas on Saturday at Hillenbrand Stadium. first pitch scheduled for 6pm.
