Diamondbacks sign Zack Greinke to 6-year deal

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have reportedly agreed to a 6-year deal with Dodgers ace pitcher Zack Greinke, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Greinke reportedly had been leaning towards teams in the NL West, but the Giants were rumored to be leading the race.

The Diamondbacks have reportedly been looking for an ace pitcher to join their staff.  Royals pitcher Johnny Cueto turned down a six year, $120 million offer from the Diamondbacks earlier this week.

According to Rosenthal, Greinke liked the young talent in Arizona that includes All-Stars Paul Goldschmidt and A.J. Pollock.

Greinke led the MLB with a 1.66 ERA and went 19-6 in 2015 with a 0.84 WHIP and .507 opponents' OPS.
