Cardinals release Michael Floyd following DUI arrest in Scottsdale

The Arizona Cardinals have released wide receiver Michael Floyd following a DUI arrest in Scottsdale, KGUN9 sister station KNXV reports.

The team made the official announcement on Wednesday afternoon

Michael Floyd was arrested Monday morning in Scottsdale, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.

Police say Floyd was asleep at the wheel at the intersection of Camelback Road and Goldwater Boulevard with his vehicle running when he was located by police.

Police say Floyd was arrested for DUI and failure to obey a police officer.

Floyd was booked and released Monday morning. 

According to ESPN, Floyd was also arrested in 2011 while at Notre Dame for a DUI after running a stop sign at about 3 a.m. on campus.

He was also cited in 2010 for underage drinking in Minneapolis after police were called out to a fight.
