Arizona point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright could "miss a considerable amount of time" after suffering a high right ankle sprain against Texas Southern on Wednesday night, head coach Sean Miller said.
Jackson-Cartwright was injured midway through the first half of the 16th-ranked Wildcats' 85-63 victory after getting tangled with a Texas Southern player on a screen. The junior guard limped off the court and did not return, leaving Arizona even more short-handed.
Sophomore guard Allonzo Trier has yet to play due to unspecified reasons and no timetable has been given for his return. Redshirt forward Ray Smith suffered a third torn ACL during an exhibition game and retired from basketball.
Arizona faces 8th ranked Gonzaga at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm. "We're going to have to play a great game to have a chance," says Miller. Miller also added they might look into signing another walk on player. Arizona added Kory Jones as a walk on Wednesday.
