TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Tanque Verde District voted Saturday in a special meeting that students and staff will be shifting to remote instruction starting Monday, December 14.

The decision is based off the Arizona Department of Health Services COVID-19 School Dashboard showing the three metrics that moved into red Dec. 10, according to TVUSD. Local health officials advised suspending in-person instruction as COVID cases are substantial in the county.

Remote learning will continue until guidance is given from health officials, the district says.

For students who don't have any other options available to them during the week of December 14 to December 17, previously scheduled hybrid days will be available.

The district asks all students, families, and staff to continue to wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and wash their hands.
