TUCSON, Ariz. — A local artist is turning to social media to help sell his artwork during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like many other artists, Levi Keonen depends on events like the 4th Avenue Street fair for business. For the better part of a year now, those events have been canceled.

Keonen who owns The Lost Highway Sign Company, has adapted to this new normal, using social media and self-created events like driveway sales to drive his business.

"One of the things I've just done recently is a couple Fridays ago I was sitting there talking to my wife and I said 'hey you know what I'm just gonna throw all my stuff out in our driveway,'" Keonen said. "Then I advertised it on the marketplace on Facebook. We had quite a few people show up."

Keonen specializes in recycling license plates, but also makes tables, keychains, and earrings.

You can find his work on Facebook or his business website.
