An unusual situation in this week's Pothole Patrol.

The 22nd St. Overpass at the Union Pacific Railroad, west of Tucson Boulevard was in need of some pothole repairs. It was reported to us by a viewer who was not able to take any pictures, because the holes were on the travel lanes of a very heavily traveled 22nd St. The viewer said they were mainly westbound, so we took a look and submitted a repair request right before the Fourth of July.

Last week, Pothole Patrol received confirmation the work had been completed. After inspection, it seems new potholes have appeared. This is probably caused in part by the recent heavy rain. The City of Tucson's Rapid Response repair team has been asked to re-open the trouble ticket to repair these additional, new potholes. They are on the eastbound side of the bridge in the #2 lane, heading towards Tucson Boulevard.

Finally, an update on a significant repair in Pima County, submitted by a viewer on Fountains Drive north of Ina. Ann said there have been people that have fallen or have gotten their walker wheels caught in potholes. Pima County DOT has put this stretch of Fountains Drive in a repair queue, but not for routine pothole repair. It will be repaired using a chip seal renovation, a more significant fix.
