Kimberly Guilfoyle is stepping down as U.S. ambassador to Greece after the Trump administration asked her to resign.

"Serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime," Guilfoyle said in a statement Tuesday. "I will forever be grateful to President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for entrusting me with the extraordinary privilege of representing the greatest country in the history of the world."

The announcement came as newly appointed White House press secretary Katie Zacharia confirmed Tuesday that the administration had asked Guilfoyle to resign.

"She has been a wonderful asset to the team and we wish her well," Zacharia said.

Guilfoyle, the former fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., has recently faced controversy over a reported request for money from a Trump donor.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Guilfoyle asked the donor to wire her $100,000 to help pay her American Express bill. The donor said he did not provide the money.

In her statement, Guilfoyle denied the allegations and vowed to defend her reputation.

"These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity," she said. "I will not allow false accusations to define my decades of public service."

Despite her departure, Guilfoyle reaffirmed her support for Trump and his administration.

"While my time as Ambassador may be coming to an end, my commitment to President Trump, the America First movement, and the country I love will never end," she said.

Guilfoyle was sworn in Sept. 29, 2025, in Washington. Before joining the Trump administration, she was a co-host of "The Five" on Fox News.
