PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say the suspect in a shooting that injured three people, including an officer, was killed.
Authorities released more details about the Saturday night shooting that resulted in the 32-year-old male suspect dying at the scene.
Police spokeswoman Mercedes Fortune says the incident began when police responded to a call about a family fight but were sent away.
Officers returned four hours later after a second call about a suspect threatening to shoot family members.
Officers encountered gunfire and a SWAT team initiated contact.
After several hours, officers tried to rescue victims and more gunfire erupted.
Fortune says a 36-year-old male officer, a 69-year-old woman and a 38-year-old woman were shot.
A second officer was bitten by a police canine.
All four remained in stable condition Monday.
