PHOENIX (AP) — Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel says she looks forward to returning home in coming weeks after being hospitalized for treatment of a brain injury she experienced after a Nov. 3 fall.

Adel said Friday in a statement released through her office that she feels stronger every day and knows it is a "slow and steady process" to recover from a brain injury.

Adel after her fall had emergency surgery for removal of a blood clot from bleeding on the brain.

She said in her statement she was thankful to her family, those in the community who have indicated support and the medical teams who have treated her.
