Multiple firearms seized from Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's compound were tied back to Arizona, sources say.

Law enforcement officials said 11 firearms were sized from the compound, and of those, five were from Arizona.

One of those five guns was traced back to the botched Fast and Furious operation.

The Fast and Furious operation involved agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who allowed criminals to buy guns with the government's intention of tracking the weapons. But the agency lost most of the guns, including two that were found at scene of the death of a border patrol agent, Brian Terry, in 2010.

The death of Terry brought to light the bungled federal gun-tracking operation known as Fast and Furious.

The infamous and most-wanted drug lord Guzman is currently at the Altiplano jail in Mexico after officials re-capture him after his escape from a Mexican jail.
