Scottsdale Police are on scene of a possible explosive device in the area of 2nd Street and Miller Road.

According to information on scene, a square block has been evacuated and closed off from 2nd Street to Osborn Road and from Miller Road to Drinkwater Boulevard. Several complexes and homes nearby have been evacuated.

The suspicious device is reportedly in a parked car, a Crown Victoria, just south of the courthouse. An officer reportedly checked out the car to begin with because it was parked in the lot that should have otherwise been empty.

A bomb-sniffing dog was brought in to inspect the vehicle and picked up a "hit" on the car, prompting further investigation. Arizona Department of Public Safety bomb investigators are now assisting.
