Police arrest man after shots fired during domestic dispute

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Sahuarita police arrested Gabriel Sanchez, 23, on Wednesday after a domestic dispute during which he discharged a firearm.

Officers initially responded to a report that Sanchez was intoxicated and destroying the home, according to a Sahuarita Police Department media release.

Sanchez was detained by officers when they got to the residence. Officers then interviewed people who were in the residence and learned a weapon was fired earlier that day.

Officers also learned that Sanchez fired his weapon during a second incident later that day in the front yard near an arriving relative.

Sanchez was taken to the Pima County jail and was booked on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

According to a Sahuarita Police Department media release, Sanchez received the following charges:

  • Three counts of endangerment
  • One count of aggravated assault
  • Two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm
  • Four counts of domestic violence disorderly conduct
  • One count of domestic violence criminal damage
  • One count of possession of narcotic paraphernalia
