Tiny living...it's the hot new trend that many people are embracing, but it's also a good way for veterans and homeless to have a roof over their head.

Now there's a tiny house community in Maricopa County!

Build Us H.O.P.E. and GreenLight Solutions of Maricopa invites you to their grand opening of the first-ever veteran’s tiny house community in Maricopa County.

It’s called The Village on 13th.

Founder and builder Elizabeth Singleton says, "I’m excited to see this growing community bring more awareness for the need for more affordable housing for our veterans.”

Singleton and her teams have been featured on HGTV, national news stations, and community events, and now is your chance to see why her ideas have been getting so much attention.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, and you’ll have a chance to tour the homes on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During the ribbon cutting on Saturday, there will also be free refreshments, live music and prizes.  Plus, you’ll witness the delivery of the first keys to the Tiny Homes residents.

If you go: 1229 S 13th Ave., Phoenix
